Drug and Alcohol Office

(formerly Next Step Specialist Drug and Alcohol Services/WA Alcohol and Drug Authority)

The Drug and Alcohol Office was formed in January 2002 in response to the recommendations of the 2001 Community Drug Summit.

DAO incorporates the functions of all government agencies in the field of alcohol & other drugs. The DAO website is http://www.dao.health.wa.gov.au and contains information on current DAO programs and activities.

Specialist services are available to help adults, younger people, and their families or carers, with drug and alcohol related problems. Services are delivered through a network of government and non-government agencies contracted by the Drug and Alcohol Office.
